I inherited a 1920s Bluthner upright that had been sitting untouched for decades, frame intact but the action and finish badly deteriorated. The restoration team treated it as a craft project rather than a repair job ? rebuilding the action, replacing the hammers, and refinishing the casework by hand. It now plays, and looks, better than I imagined possible.
